Since the vast majority of the families in the Adopt-A-Family Program are headed by single mothers with young children at home, the CEC puts on a Mother's Day Dinner to acknowledge their contributions to their family. On the Thursday evening before Mother's Day the  CEC staff and/or a sponsoring organization put on an evening that includes dinner, door prizes, and entertainment. This evening strengthens the commitment of these mothers to being successful in the Adopt-A-Family Program while building a new life for their family.
